The Chef, Mélanie Tardif, was born from a brilliant mix of Amerindian and Haitian blood; she grew up in the province of Quebec, among a family with European traditions.

Her curiosity and her strong desire to travel around the world led her to Asia, Oceania and Europe, including Scandinavia. Then she tried to find a way to combine her souvenirs of life and travel.

Career-wise, after a short stint into the fashion field, she decided to put her efforts into the gastronomy. She received a culinary education from Calixa-Lavallée, while gathering knowledge and experience under the supervision of different well-known chefs.

Her talent and creativity have been recognized everywhere. She also won aan award of merit at the end of her studies, which was a trip to Toulouse. While there, she learned the basis of French gastronomy and met with great chefs such as Michel Bras, Yannick Delpech, Stéphane Tournié et Philippe Urraca. In addition to sharing their passion with her, they also gave rise to the idea of Cut Chef à domicile!
